Microorganisms capable of parasites inhibiting the growth of harmful cicadas.

Result:
  • Cicadas samples from natural forests and coffee gardens in Dak Nong and Dong Nai; 26 strains of fungi and 12 strains of bacteria were isolated. Identification of 1 fungal strain is the genus Metarhizium; 2 strains of bacteria is the genus Bacillus, and three strains are the genus Paecilomyces.
  • Three strains of fungi TN7N1, CF8N3, TN7N3 have been selected with the strongest ability to kill and parasitize in both laboratory and field experiments. For the experiment performed in the laboratory, the percentage cicada parasitic fungi of strains TN7N1, CF8N3, TN7N3 respectively were 76,67%, 100% at 9 days.
  • In the additional field experiment, the results showed that the rate fungus parasitic and killed it of strains TN7N1, CF8N3, TN7N3 respectively were 55,63%, 62,92%, 71,67% after 30 days.
